What is Citizenship Washington Focus? Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) is a 4-H leadership program for high school youth, ages 14-19, from across America. Thousands of young people come to the National 4-H Youth Conference Center, near Washington, D.C., every summer to participate in a week-long program that enriches young people's lives through activities that broaden their appreciation and respect for themselves and others. How can I attend CWF? Citizenship Washington Program is a 4-H trip usually organized by state or county delegations. Contact your local 4-H educator at your county Extension office for details about your state’s CWF delegation and how to apply. For more information, contact:

What is the 2008 CWF schedule? CWF 2009 TENTATIVE schedule

How can I join the staff of CWF? Every year we hire talented, enthusiastic, versatile program assistants to lead the CWF experience. You must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to attain a Washington , D.C. , tour guide license. Go to Be a Program Assistant  for more information.

What options are available for Cultural Heritage Evening? Your Coordinator's Handbook will have a comprehensive listing of dinner/fine arts theaters in the Washington, DC, area.

Will I be walking often? Yes. You will want to bring comfortable, well broken-in shoes, particularly for Capitol Hill Day. You might plan on wearing tennis shoes and slipping into dress shoes before appointments.

What recreation facilities are at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center? Full-court basketball and sandpit volleyball are available on the grounds. We also offer a fitness center and a recreation room with a cyber cafe, game arcade with video games, pinball machines, air hockey, pool tables and a large screen television.
